For this project, it matters to understand the conections and ways of integration of learning spaces and active learning spaces in the school and in the university design.


University Atlas of the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon

It is a survey of all university equipment in the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon (MAL) and its location in the same geographical area. It also to analyse the dispersion of university buildings, in order to understand how they integrate the structure of the city. Only buildings hosting colleges and institutes were analysed, ir order to better understand which of these are integrated in university precincts.

9 Case Studies in Lisbon

It is a survey of the university precincts in the metropolitan area of Lisbon,analysed in conformity with the methodology described in the work A Forma Urbana no Planeamento Físico 1,by Luz Valente Pereira, and in the work Campus Madrid 2, by Pablo Calvo-Sotelo. The analysis represents a reduction in the universe of study, from which were withdrawn all university buildings not included in precincts such as "campus." This sample includes nine precincts, located in three counties of the MAL: Lisbon, Almada and Oeiras.

ALE at Instituto Superior Técnico

For each informal learning space existing into IST-Alameda campus, specific space-functional requirements will be identified and translated into patterns.

In addition, configurational properties will be described using space syntax methodology (Hillier and Hanson, 1984).
